Dear T.S.,

The bearings on your bike may have been worn out. Normally the little roughness of the bearings will not effect your real ride too much.

You can contact your dealer to get new bearings. However, it is not easy to remove and install the bearings without proper tooling.

The number is just a serial number of the manufacturer's production.

Frame Bearings
Guest_T.S.
After half a year of riding with my XGorge, i decided to totally check and clean my bike. Now as I screwed off the parts of the frame, I noticed that the bearings run quite rough. Some of them even hardly move when I try to spin them with my hands(I didn't take them out of the frame, so they are still in it).
Is this normal or should they be changed? Where can I get new bearings?

Another issue: There is a number engraved in the frame's seat stays on the left side near the Horst-Link. What does that number mean?
And can you tell me what the characters and digits in the serial number stand for? I guess "SM" in the second line is the size, but what does the others mean?

Good product is not always good seller. We very confidently believe Xtension offers one of the very best products on the market, but it is not easy to find a proper distributor in this over crowded and competitive market.

But the more you know what a good MTB suspension bike is meant for, the better you understand Xtension provide a product much more pronouncing than its name and brand.

Our product line as well as the web site will be renewed soon. The passion is still there and the fire will not be extinct but burning hotter and hotter.

About Xtension and Azonic

These two companies had a very pleasant cooperation a few years ago. However, despite licenced from Specialized's "Horst Link", due to some patent issues against Ellsworth (which sounds very ridiculous in other areas than US : one design but two patents...), Azonic could not but stop selling Xtension-designed frames in US market. It is truly a big pity for US enthusiasts.

About XTENSION

The members of XTENSION include frame designers, engineers, manufacturers, and professional racers who have been devoted to the MTB world for decades. Most of them joined the R&D works of many famous brands and legendary bikes on the market, so they not only gained a lot of experiences on designing, engineering and producing a really good MTB frame, but had the chance to test and know the truth of numerous designs, good or faulty.

However, the more bikes from the big brands the XTENSION members helped to develop or test, the more questions came to their mind:

“ Why these famous bikes from big brands must come with so many compromises? “

Due to the reasons of production cost, patent, “family look”, or just simply want to be different from competitors, these big brands have so many limits to design a new bike in the very beginning, and the result is always full of compromises consequently, just more or less.

“ Why cannot we just throw away these nonsense limits, and design an ultimate performance bike of no promise? “ a voice sounded to XTENSION members.

Therefore, these people of the same goal – design the ultimate MTB bike of no compromise – teamed up together and called this project “XTENSION”.

XTENSION means eXTENSION, extending the territory of our MTB world;

XTENSION also means ‘X’ +‘TENSION’, the most two radical elements of MTB;

XTENSION, a dream that puts all our passions and professions together, with no compromises and limits.

Here are XTENSION’s proud results, the way to share our dreams and passions with all MTB enthusiasts.

Hey, i also would like to know more about the company. I was heavyly thinking about wether to buy a XGorge or not, because i couldnt find any informations about your company. Finally i decided to buy it, because the price was amazing . Now i'm very happy about my decision but still want to know more about the companies' History and the company today:
What is the relation between XTension and Azonic? Which other companies is XTension producing for? Who is the distributor for XTension in Germany or Europe and where can i buy more XTension bikes and parts? I can't find any more bikes or frames in Germany right now.

kind regards
T.S.
